fuk-u-DOH! me

I unfortunatly missed this one. I was stuck driving home from Cincinnatti during game time. I was nervous when I got back, last I saw was the brewers were tied 0-0 in the 4th. Then I put on espn news and saw on the bottom line that Zambrano had to leave the game in the 7th because of a forearm cramp. His line for the day was near perfect... so then I got real nervous. Then I saw it Milwaukee 4 Cubs 3. GO BREWERS! From what I gathered, Brewers rallied with 3 runs in the 9th and Gange already blew one. Gwynn Jr. came up big in the tenth and Riske put them down. Cubs fans booed Kerry Wood after one outing and Fukudome was pretty Fuking good. Get it? His name sound like... whatever. Your thoughts? GO BREWERS!

"Stranded" in Florida

We all headed to the airport this morning... for some reason Katie and I didn't hop on the plane. It turns out the flight was overbooked. So Delta was offering $400 ticket vouchers to anyone who had "flexible" travel plans. So Katie and I jumped on that right away and just like that, the honeymoon flight is covered. We'll get back to Milwaukee late Monday night. Sorry for the delay Milwaukeeans. Now sports...
Damn Badgers. There goes my entire bracket. I thought Kansas was gonna be the real test... but Davidson? BS. Way to suck Wisconsin. It's ok though, it's almost Brewer time. Interesting Brewer thoughts...
It looks like Yost is already aggravating the brewer faithful. Current Yostisms include batting Kendall 9th. Then we got Bill Hall batting 5th as opposed to Corey Hart. Then with all that said, someone tell me why Braun is batting after Prince Fielder? Everyone knows the pitcher bats 9th. Every team in baseball has done this for 110 years for a reason. It works. Why isn't Hart batting 5th? Hart bats .360 with RISP. Bill Hall sucks. Then we have one of the best clean up hitters in the league who should be batting behind one of the best all around hitters in the league. But Ned's gonna change that. Like I said, mangers go with traditional baseball wisdom because it works... otherwise it wouldn't be called traditional. Damn it, Yost. Then again, if this all works out, Yost is incredible and the Brewers are winning the world series. GO BREWERS!

WINGS!!!

Apparently Greg did this thing in Cincinnati. Here are the rules... you got to find a Buffalo Wildwings, you have to order a dozen of their hottest "blazin" wings, you have to eat them all in 6 minutes with nothing to drink. If you accomplish this feat you get a free t-shirt. So Greg packed me up and sent me over to a Buffalo Wildwings out here in Sarasota. Everyone else was able to order lunch and enjoy themselves but I guess I had to do this. The server puts the wings in front of me, then stands there with a timer and says go. I went for the wings themselves first then decided to finish with the drumsticks. Those things were hot, very very hot. The hard part wasn't handling the heat though, it's finishing 12 of the damn things in 6 minutes. Just so much food, so little water. Had 2 minutes left and 4 wings. I just thought to myself, it'd be ridiculous to already go this far and not finish. So I sucked it up and pounded the remaining 4 with 30 seconds to spare. I survived the Blazin Challenge. My face turned beat red. If anyone else attempts this, don't use the wet nap to wipe your face. Mix of alcohol and chili pepper on your skin does not feel good. I now know what it feels like to be pepper sprayed. But that was nothing compared to the gastric turmoil I experienced for the next 24 hours. Was it worth it? Yes, GO BREWERS!

That new post with pictures...

Well sorry ladies, I'm engaged. I wanted to do it on saturday but it rained all day... hard. So I had to go ahead and do it on easter. Now we get to plan a wedding and set a date. I'll keep everyone updated here. So that day we came home and did a champagne toast and all that. Good times. Well that's all for now, I'll try to blog a couple more times before heading back to Milwaukee. Rock on.

In Cinci for a night

Showed up to Cincinnati around 7:30 EST last night. Staying at my brother and megan's place. Played some scene-it movie edition last night. I'm pretty amazing at that game. Everyone yelled at me for knowing Tootsie was the answer to some question. I've eaten a good amount of skyline since we got here. let's see, I'm at 6 cheese coneys, a 3-way, and a chili bean burrito. Shouldn't of switched things up and tried the burrito. Finally over this cold but I think i'm allergic to this cat. So it's like I still have a cold. It sucks. Flying to Florida in 4 hours and counting. So far I'm doing pretty good in my NCAA pool, my whole sweet 16 is still around but whose isn't? If WI goes far in this thing I'm guaranteed a victory though so go BADGERS! If Georgetown could get beat early that'd be great. GO BREWERS!

Prince Fielder at Shakers?

Katie just received an email from her boss at Shakers saying the following. "emerging vegetable dinner coming (vegetarian dinner late april for prince fielder)." So with that said, we already grabbed two tickets to a couple brewer games. One of them being Prince Fielder bobble head night. I'd like to get a couple of those signed. I also have that ball my dad saved for me that has a collection of all-time Brewer greats. I'd like to see Prince Fielder on that. It's awesome Katie is going to be able to meet the Prince but I'm still not liking this vegetarian deal. Hope we could at least sneak in some chicken broth or something. Power hitters don't eat carrots. That or perhaps Prince should consider Kobe beef...
For those of you who've never heard of Kobe beef, let me explain... These cows are lightly suspended so they don't have to carry the burden of their own weight. Then they're fed a healthy diet of grains, beer, and sake. After the cows get fat and drunk, people literally massage them to relieve any unwanted stress. Then I'm sure they sing it songs and lead it into a heavenily pasture of rolling hills and daisies where they procede to gentally slit it's throat and cut it into peices for human consumption. BEAUTIFUL!!! Beats that one video I just saw on cnn where they had to shock a cow repetitively to try to get it to get up on it's feet and move across the barn. Then when that didn't work they moved the thing with a forklift. Now that's what I call BEEF! GO BREWERS!

Bracket time

Time to fill out your NCAA brackets. Did my first one of the year and apparently Wisconsin is winning it all. Everyone is calling me an idiot for predicting that one but whatever, it's what's going to happen. Also threw Notre Dame into the final 4 eventhough I'll be pissed if it happens. That's all I got for college basketball...

I'm still sick. Katie and I went to county claire last night for a bit. I know I shouldn't go out when I'm sick but it's st patrick's day, and katie had all her Irish stuff on. Couldn't just sit at home and go to bed, this holiday comes only once a year. They had a decent crowd at county claire and the people were fun for the most part. Until it got late and the only people left were the drunk kids who loved having an excuse to be hammered on a monday. We had a good time though.

No one's answering the Aaron Rodgers poll, what's with that? No cheating. I don't want you guys googling his number just so you can get it right. GO BREWERS!

I'm sick

I'm sick for the 1000th time this year. Kind of getting tired of diseases, it's getting pretty ridiculous. I know I got this from the sick dishwasher at work. From now on, I WON'T scrape the potatoes of my plates before putting them in the dish area! That's right Salvador, I will have my revenge! Guess it's better to be sick now then next week. Don't want to ruin my trip to Florida...
On another note, Katie and I made a good chunk of change the past couple nights at Bosley. The people are really coming in now. We're getting busy from 5:30 straight on till 10:00 so put in your reservations now. Best food in Milwaukee! I worked every shift this past week. That's pretty impressive. In other news Brett Favre is still retired. That's all for now. Go BREWERS! Opening day is less than 3 weeks away!

It is way too early

One thing that sucks about living here is the parking situation. Seeing that Katie and I work nights, we're always the last car in the driveway. So every morning at 7 am I have to get up and move the thing. Then I can't fall back asleep. I think it's because I inexplicably woke up with Motley Crew's "Shout at the Devil" in my head. How did that happen? Seriously, why can't I keep my car on the street over night? What is the purpose of this law? It's just a huge inconvenience for everyone. It is only 8:37 AM and I've already read every brewer article I could find today, checked out all the new stupid videos at http://www.break.com/, and started updating my blog. Katie is gonna be sleeping for at least two more hours so I got to be all quiet. Life sucks this morning. Marquette did knock out Notre Dame last night, that makes me and many McNamaras happy. I guess it also makes some McNamaras not happy. Kind of weird how I cheer for MU bball more than any other program but when CSU is your other option, why not? AWESOME! Ben signed on, I'm going to talk to him about the brewers now.

More randomness...

Last night I went to the store and made a pretty incredible discovery -- the Slim Jim Monster Stick!!! Being one of the world's first and foremost slim jim connoisseurs I have to say, they finally figured it out. This brought me back to the days when yours truly won 600 of the small meat snacks. See the problem with slim jims is you can't ever eat just one. I'd put down at least 5 of the minis and couldn't do with less than two of the long guys but not with this sucker. Still packs the same slim jim taste yet satisfies your craving in one dose. I believe the people at http://www.slimjim.com/ said it best. "OK meat lovers, this one's for you. The biggest Slim Jim ever, it's a double dose of smoky goodness that'll put your taste buds in a meat headlock. Hold on with both hands though, because this beast is playing for keeps!" You can thank me later.

In other news, I was watching some old episodes of the golden girls late last night... excellent show by the way, lifetime network. Episodes are on at 12:00 and 12:30 central time. Anyways, I caught the commercial for Mirapex -- the infamous restless leg syndrome drug. I don't care about the whole debate over how we're over medicated and do we really need a drug for something like this. No, what got to me was the hilarious side effects. Aside from the usuals -- "When beginning to take MIRAPEX, you should be cautious until you know how the drug will affect you. Some people who take MIRAPEX can become sleepy or fall asleep while doing normal everyday activities like driving a car. It is possible that MIRAPEX treatment can cause someone to feel faint or become dizzy when standing up from a seated or prone position. There are reports of some people having hallucinations (seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, or tasting something that does not actually exist) while taking MIRAPEX." You expect all that fun stuff when on a prescription medication, but this is the one that got me -- "There have been reports of patients taking certain medications to treat Parkinson's disease or RLS, including MIRAPEX, that have reported problems with gambling, compulsive eating, and increased sex drive." Now that's some funny stuff. Personally I think it's a good thing. If there's one thing people with Parkinsons can still be good at, it's got to be shaking some dice. Yikes, ok I'm finished.

Kendall can SEE... and more brewers.

One major story to fall through the cracks this spring training is the Jason Kendall lasik eye surgery saga. Let me recap for the non Brewer obsessed. Back in the day Kendall used to be a productive hitter. The guy's getting older and his vision is fading a bit. Claims he had trouble picking up the spin on the baseball the past couple years. Well things are supposed to change this year... kendall went for the lasik eye surgery. He says he sees the ball well and his numbers should improve. Now I understand lasik works, just ask my mom... but I think there were a couple options Kendall should of considered before opting for the performance enhancement surgery. Option 1, the rec specs. Way cheaper, way more bad ass. You just don't see the rec specs anymore. What happened to the days of Chris Sabo? The only active player man enough to rock the rec specs is current brewer closer -- Eric "game over" Gagne. Nobody says it better than the people at lenscrafters -- "rec specs, safety in style." How can you not love that look. Then there's option 2, the wild thing. Nothing strikes more fear into the heart of an opposing pitcher than the skull and cross bones. The most intimidating look short of the eye patch. If only you could pick up a curve with an eye patch, that'd be incredible. I'm really stacking up the major league references here... GO BREWERS!

one more year? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He actually did it. No more Favre. This is what I think should be done...

1) ESPN needs to create ESPN Favre. This will be on channel 4. For 2 years they will sit and discuss Brett Favre. Commentators will include Frank Winters and Mark Chmura because I'm pretty sure they have nothing better to do with their lives... except for the month of May. That's prom season.

2) I need to find that program and those ticket stubs to that horrible NFC championship game. That stuff just became pretty valuable.

3) From now on April 4th should be none as Brett Favre day in Wisconsin.

4) The number 4 should be retired but not just in football, in all sports. In fact the number 4 needs to be trademarked by Favre and anyone willing to use it will owe him roylaties. That or we should just rename the number 4 Favre.

Now I'm gonna retire to my living room, light some candles, play some Enya, and sit in a corner and cry. Then maybe check out my newly acquired nfl network.

The Favre question

Put up the favre poll because as my dad said, everyone else is doing it, so why shouldn't I. In this one you can pick more than one answer. So you can pick say, yes he's coming back, and you hope he is. Or yes he's coming back but you hope he'd just retire. See how it works? FAVRE!
