One major story to fall through the cracks this spring training is the Jason Kendall lasik eye surgery saga. Let me recap for the non Brewer obsessed. Back in the day Kendall used to be a productive hitter. The guy's getting older and his vision is fading a bit. Claims he had trouble picking up the spin on the baseball the past couple years. Well things are supposed to change this year... kendall went for the lasik eye surgery. He says he sees the ball well and his numbers should improve. Now I understand lasik works, just ask my mom... but I think there were a couple options Kendall should of considered before opting for the performance enhancement surgery. Option 1, the rec specs. Way cheaper, way more bad ass. You just don't see the rec specs anymore. What happened to the days of Chris Sabo? The only active player man enough to rock the rec specs is current brewer closer -- Eric "game over" Gagne. Nobody says it better than the people at lenscrafters -- "rec specs, safety in style." How can you not love that look. Then there's option 2, the wild thing. Nothing strikes more fear into the heart of an opposing pitcher than the skull and cross bones. The most intimidating look short of the eye patch. If only you could pick up a curve with an eye patch, that'd be incredible. I'm really stacking up the major league references here... GO BREWERS!
