CAMERON MANIA... and green didn't go so well

Mike Cameron came back into the brewer lineup with a vengeance last night. He reached base 4 times with a double, two singles, and a walk. He was accountable for 4 runs -- scoring twice and driving 2 in. It was crazy to see the brewer lineup finally heat up in the 30 degree chicago weather. Interesting thought here... why not schedule these april cubs/brewers games at miller park? Whatever, I guess you can't make the cubs start the first 2 months of the year on the road. Then when the games really counted they'd have nothing but home stands. No no no, I'm glad to head down to chicago and beat them this time of year. Ben Sheets had a rough outing but at least he had an outing. We did beat one of their worst pitchers with our "ace." We'll see how Suppan fares tonight. Lets see if this turns us around a bit. I'll take 10 runs a game any day. GO BREWERS!

Anyone check out the wedding site katie set up? Pretty informative. Higgins and I picked out tuxes last saturday. Now we got to have Katie look at what we came up with and change everything. Gonna go cake and photographer shopping soon. In other news Katie's sister Marcie Schelble just gave birth to a 7 pound baby girl, Brooklynn Mae, just after midnight on the 29th so I guess that adds another to the list of newly acquired nieces and nephews. There's a lot of em.

Sorry about the green debacle, we're back to standard blue format. Rock on.

Brewers anger me... and we're GREEN!

Why can't we score runs? I thought we were supposed to score a bunch of runs this year... but we aren't. It is horribly frustrating to watch. Wes Helms just beat us with a ten inning homer. Remember that guy? He's terrible. Prince came up in 3 clutch 2 out situations yesterday and accomplished nothing. Give me something to get excited about. You think Mike Cameron will change things around once he gets into that number 2 spot? I hope so.

In other news, Higgins gave Katie and I the tour of the landmark condos building. His apartment was pretty cool and clean, nice balcony, bigger than you'd think. The pool was amazing seeing that Yovanni Guillardo was swimming in it as we walked through there. That's right, Milwaukee Brewer ACE Yovanni Guillardo. We walked in there a few hours after going to the game so we were obviously decked out in some brewer gear... which made the encounter kind of awkward. I just kind of walked past him and giggled. I should of asked for an autograph or something, but the guy was swimming with his wife and little kid. He was technically at home as well. I didn't want to be that guy who ruined everything. That's all for now. GO BREWERS!

Great article Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=744060

Great investigative journalism Ellen Gabler. Ellen goes ahead and reports the shocking revelation that 37% of Milwaukee restaurants have had a health code violation then procedes to tell us the three Milwaukee horror stories that she was able to compile after 10 years of "research." What bothers me is she acts as if all health violations are as disgusting as the three she listed. She's acting like 37% of Milwaukee's restaurants are cockraoch infested hell holes. I got a few of the more common health code violations for you that may put some people at ease.

1) Adding more then a cap full of bleach to a gallon of water that is above room temperature. More then a cap full is considered toxic and if the water is above room temperature they fear the solution is going to become airborn and poison our guests. Just consider this the next time you dump a gallon of clorox in your tub. You survived right?

2) Staff taking a break/eating in a non designated area.

3) Leaving the ice scoop in the ice bin.

Some things I've noticed after being in the Milwaukee restaurant business for some time. Bosley on Brady has a perfect bill of health. I believed they were inspected within the past two months and passed everything with flying colors. Then there's Turner Hall across from the Bradley Center. In my short tenure there I must have spotted over 50 cockroaches. I would never ever drink out of one of their glasses or eat with any of their silverware. I used my own plastic cup to drink water out of while I worked there. I'm sorry but when you wash 2000 glasses in one gallon of water, things aren't gonna get clean. Then the silverware, they run that threw the same dishwasher that has washed over 4000 dishes... just once. The servers then sit in a room with napkins, wipe off the food chunk residue, then wrap those suckers up. Tasty. How that place isn't nailed yet is beyond me. Can you grandfather in cockroach infestations? Oh and their beer cooler was always covered with this thick brown sludge. So think about that next time you suck down a bottle of miller lite at turner hall.

Sorry, I hate Turner's and everything that has to do with owner RC Shmidt, Shmitt? Schmidt? Who cares, come on buddy you're like 50. You can drop the RC, high school football ended 30 years ago. They say you can judge a lot about a man by the way he treats his inferiors. If so, this guy is the biggest peice of shit to walk this earth. Sorry about the language grandma.

Wow, this blog turned from me complaining about this ridiculous article to me hating Turners. Whatever. GO BREWERS! I'm going to the game in 20 minutes. Lets win this series!

brief wedding update

Just to let everyone know, macy's is having a giant sale right now and most of the registry items there are now being offered at a discount. Don't know how much longer this is gonna last so check it out.

Thank you So Taguchi!

"See what I'm saying here? This vegetarian stuff has to stop now. If this isn't just a phase then we have some serious issues here. We need a Japanese outfielder to question his manhood immediately, or this season is at a loss. You heard it here first."

I posted that sometime this February regarding the Prince Fielder vegetarian issue. So, anyone watch the game last night? Prince Fielder hit two bombs, including the game winner. Then mouths no meat to the camera. It was hilarious if you missed it. But why yesterday? Prince was going against Cole Hamels, one of the top left handed arms in the league. By all means he should of struggled at the plate. His powers struggles were supposed to continue... or were they? Ladies and gentlemen, brewer fans around the world rejoice! I give you SO TAGUCHI! Rumor has it that So Taguchi wanted to get under Prince's skin tonight. If you looked closely you could see him screaming and shaking a bag of marbles everytime Prince was at the plate. Prince seemed undaunted by such childish taunts but then BAM! Two run shot in the first! BAM! Two run shot in the 8th! Brewers win! So Taguchi questioned Prince's manhood and Prince answered with a vengence. So thank you So Taguchi. Prince is back.

Pinkey's... you got lucky

I just brought my car in to pinkey's auto body just off of capital dr here. I heard they had a good reputation. Well we have a little fender bender we wanted to get fixed so katie and I drove the camry in for an estimate. The guy looks at the car then goes, 2800 dollars. I got angry. He started telling me all this BS about how the color of my car is hard to match and it'd be difficult to find the parts. Well... I hopped online and looked. According to the internet, the number one selling car in 1997 was the toyota camry. The number one color sold of this car? tan. I give this guy a call back and leave a message. Then suddenly I get a call back from him saying the estimate is now at 1500 dollars. That is 1300 bucks less! He acted like he was able to pull some strings for me or something. Ass. Did Mr. Pinkey not know who he was dealing with! This is Dan in Milwaukee. My views sway the opinions of possibly 5-6 people. That's right pinkey, I'm blogging this. Now the whole world will know of your wrong doings. Oh and dad... that means I'm finally getting the windshield fixed.

Brewer time. Brewers have 14 pitchers on their roster and their bullpenn was stretched thin. Gagne would of had the save and brewers would of had the win had Weeks been able to turn the routine double play on Pujols. Instead he chucked one in the dirt, extra innings. Brewers finally get it in 12. No one cares about that though.

The national media has finally caught onto the story that you heard here first! Who predicted the vegetarian induced HR slump by Prince Fielder? This guy. ONE HOMERUN SO FAR! ONE! This has got to be fixed now. Got a quote from Mike Daly, who grabbed a quote from the JSonline blog -- "Prince should eat Ned Yost and solve two problems." Funny, but i actually think Yost is doing a good job this year. Kind of a screwy starting lineup to begin but things are shaping up. We're winning games and playing terrible baseball. That's usually a good sign. I wonder what will happen when we play good baseball.

Now wedding... Katie and I just bought our invitations yesterday. We're gonna check out the proofs on Friday then it takes 2-4 weeks to print them. So we got that going for us. Now all we got left is. Bridesmaid dresses, wedding dress, finding tuxes, finding photographer, finding DJ... and probably 30 more things. GO WEDDINGS!

Oh, and one last thing. The onion ran an article joking about how mathematicians are going to retire the number 4. I came up with that first. Expect a call from my lawyer.

WEDDING BLOG!

Alright, this is what we got going right now...

1) The wedding is September 6th and is going to be held at Maxwelton Braes in Door County. It's a golf course so we're gonna try to do the ceremony outside. (weather permitting)

2) Wedding party includes:

Best Man - Brian Higgins
Groomsmen - Ben Suesskind, Joe Daly, Joe Parks, Mike Tessman
Maid of Honor - Shealyn Kamrath
Bridesmaids - Jorie Kamrath, Amanda Frank, Whitney Sutfin, Ariel Pollack
Flower Girl - Summer Schelble
Ushers - Joe McNamara, Greg McNamara
Pastor - Donald McMannis

3) We are registered at the following... All registry information can be found at their respective websites.

Macy's
Walmart
Bed Bath and Beyond

4) We're looking at a dark green, nature type theme. Why?... WHY NOT!

Now here's some info about this Maxwelton Braes spot. They hold the ceremony right outside of the reception hall. Then the main reception area is on the second floor. If you book a wedding at this place, they go ahead and reserve every room on the grounds for the wedding party. So here's the deal. A lodge room goes for $90 a night. A cottage unit goes for $100. Then you can grab a suite for $115. They block online booking so you'll have to call and tell them you're gonna be a guest at our wedding. Also, they don't charge for extra people in a room so you can cram as many as you want in there. If that's a little pricey for you there are literally hundreds of hotels and campsites in the area. You could be that guy who's camping in a tux.
There will be a beer and wine bar available plus a cash bar for anyone who needs their booze. It should go like this, wedding, cocktails, sit down dinner, then dancing. We got to clear the reception area by midnight but the bar downstairs will go till 2:30... I'm sure that's where you'll find my groomsmen. That's it for now. Oh wait, this saturday Higgins and I are looking at tuxes, so I'll let you guys know what happens with that. GO BREWERS! GO WEDDINGS!

Brewers Drop 3rd Straight

For some reason the brewers have forgot how to hit the past few games. The last pitcher who "really has his stuff tonight" was Nelson Figueroa. This guy was in Mexico last spring and has a 7-17 record. Technically a 6th starter because he's the guy making up for the absense of Pedro Martinez from the Mets rotation. Yet this loser holds us to two runs. Things that should be done... Kendall to lead off, weaks to 9, Braun to 3, and Prince to 4. That fixes everything. That and never playing Gabe Gross. I don't care what he does, every time the guy's in the game we just seem to suck. Looking forward to Mike Cameron.

Things aren't gonna get any easier since we're about to go up against the best pitcher in baseball tonight -- Johan Santana. Wonder if we can pull something out of the hat.

There were some rumblings about this umpire crew having a grudge against Yost. Milwaukee Journal Sentinal reporters said the strike zone was "imaginative." Apparently Yost got tossed by this crew last year and there's still some bad blood. Any thoughts? GO BREWERS!

GAGNE... MON DIEU!

*Picture courtesty of www.jsonline.com. Great Brewer reporting. Kind of a fan of their Brewer blogs as well. Can I get sued for using this?
My thoughts from the last game.

1) Gagne got hosed. I have no idea how that pitch left the ball park. I really hate that cute little picnic area we put out there. Honestly, what's the point of that place. Anyone ever go in there? Anyone ever want to go in there? That thing's sole purpose is to give crap players like Corey Patterson fluke HRs. In other news, looks like gagne is on pace for a 20 win season! Actually I think Torres got that win, but whatever.

2) Kendall isn't so bad. The career .300 hitter is lighting up the base paths in the 9th spot. I'm sure a slump is due but right now I absolutely love this move. Batting the pitcher 8th worked to perfection last night with Suppan sacrificing Hardy to set up the game's first run. The positives are definetely outweighing the negatives as of now.

3) I am so happy I didn't have to see Cordero come into that game last night. The last thing I wanted to hear was "ooh look, the brewers should of kept Cordero." "Now their 10 million dollar closer can't finish a game." God that would of been terrible.

4) Good to see Hardy get a few hits this game. I know he's not supposed to be a great hitter but random contributions are appreciated.

5) How about that defense. Webgems last night included 3 Brewer plays. Bill Hall, JJ Hardy, and even Prince Fielder. How about Bill Hall? Maybe moving to 3B is just what he needed. He said he made an adjustment with his hands at the plate. I think it was a good adjustment.

6) Sorry the Reds lost grandma and grandpa.

7) BREWERS WIN, BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL! Oh, and don't be that ass who ruins my fun and says, "Dan it is way too early in the season to get excited about this." I hate that guy.

Sorry about the delay

It's not like I was busy or anything. I've just been going to/watching a lot of brewer games. It's early in the season but it's an awesome start. Here's some updates.

1) Last saturday I totally dropped a full glass of red wine on some dude while at work. Awkward... Regardless, I got promoted to full time so I got that going for me.

2) I put way too many onions on my chili last night. I'm still tasting onions. Katie yelled at me and said I eat too many onions. I should probably stop eating so many onions.

3) I got 3 Prince Fielder bobble heads that I hope to get signed. Speaking of Prince Fielder... NO HOMERUNS!!!! EAT A BURGER!!!

4) I went to two Brewer games this week. They won them both. This chicago milwaukee thing is just getting stupid though. We're playing the Giants here and I got to deal with the I-pass dozen in my section. I avoid cubs games because of you FIBs... don't ruin the rest of them.

5) Some ass at the LA times told me Favre was considering coming out of retirement. The thing I loved about this amazing scoop is that he said Favre is shopping for trades to teams like the bears and vikings. HOW could that possibly make any sense at all. Then you got fattards like Wilbon on PTI acting like it could happen. How does it make any sense at all to leave a team that was one play away from the super bowl, a team with arguably the best wr corps in the game... to go play for the bears or vikings? Name their WRs. It's hard isn't it. Ok, got too worked up on that one. GO BREWERS!
